AfriAmp Energies was founded in 2025 by Dr. Mariam Hamad, a woman on a mission — not to sell solar panels, but to solve a problem millions of Tanzanians live with every single day: unreliable power and an expensive grid that works when it wants to.

The idea was born out of necessity. While working on a project out of town, Dr. Mariam faced what many know too well — a greedy power company demanding huge fees for a grid connection that failed more than it worked. Power would disappear 7–12 times a day, sometimes for over 12 hours. Deadlines slipped. Work stalled. And frustration turned into action.

Her first attempt at going solar? A disaster. Poor-quality installations. Wrong system sizing. And a near fire hazard. That was the final straw.

So, she did what smart, determined leaders do — she built a team of sharp, no-nonsense engineers, and together, they created AfriAmp Energies. A woman-led company, powered by purpose, focused on delivering safe, reliable, high-quality solar energy to homes, businesses, and industries across Tanzania.
